First Look: Case Histories series 2
As we say in England, it never rains but it pours! This is how we’re feeling at the minute about the spectacular crime dramas being showcased at the moment. Not only has Broadchurch set the bar remarkably high for British drama but Arne Dahl has us completely hooked. So we’re absolutely thrilled to learn of the return of the rugged and sharp and let’s be honest, very easy on the eye, Jackson Brodie.
Case Histories series 2, consisting of six parts, starts Sunday 19th May at 8:30pm on BBC One. Adapted from Kate Atkinson’s Jackson Brodie novels, series two sees quirky private investigator Jackson, played by Jason Isaacs, investigating and coping with tricky family ties. In this first episode, Victoria Wood plays a retired policewoman who finds herself on the wrong side of the law.
Television this good doesn’t come along every day!

I’m wondering if that gives me a good enough excuse to re-watch the entire first series…

I really love the Jackson Brodie books and Kate Atkinson generally. Sadly disappointed though with this series. Fails to capture the true spirit of the books especially the humour. The character of Jackson has been distorted appallingly. Real shame.
