November’s hottest new releases 2016

Winter is officially upon us – and while you could don several thick layers and venture out into the dark for fireworks and festivities, we’ve got a much more appealing idea. Why not stay in, lock out the cold and curl up in the warm and dry with a cracking read?

We’re being spoiled rotten this month as there are some absolutely huge books coming our way – from the likes of Ian Rankin, Kathy Reichs and the one and only Lee Child! We can’t wait to hear what you think of them.

Night School by Lee Child – 7^th November
Our favourite time of the year is just around the corner – no, not Christmas, but the publication of a brand new Jack Reacher book. Night School takes Reacher back to his army days, but this time he’s not in uniform. A fiendishly clever new adventure you just have to pick up. 100% unmissable. Read the first three chapters here.

Rather Be The Devil by Ian Rankin – 3^rd November
John Rebus is back for his twenty-first outing this month – one that will grip you from the first page to the last. Rebus, who is now well into retirement, may not be getting any younger, but Rankin’s writing and plotting are as fresh and compelling as ever. This is one series we just can’t get enough of.

The Bone Collection by Kathy Reichs – 3^rd November
Temperance Brennan fans, rejoice: The Bone Collection treats us to not just one chilling tale featuring our favourite forensic anthropologist, but four! The stories take Tempe from the low country of the Florida Everglades to the heights of Mount Everest and reveal what lured her into the grim, addictive world of criminal investigation. The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer – 8^th November
In this brand new thriller by the author of the Twilight series, an ex-agent on the run from her former employers must take one more case to clear her name and save her life. The Beautiful Dead by Belinda Bauer – 17^th November

The Taken by Alice Clark-Platts – 3^rd November
We loved Alice Clark-Platts’ first DI Erica Martin novel, Bitter Fruits, so we can’t wait for her second to hit the shelves this month! The Taken is a tense, unsettling psychological thriller that sees Erica lost in a case of secrets and lies where nothing is what it seems. An absolutely captivating read.

The Blood Card by Elly Griffiths – 3^rd November
The Blood Card sees the third outing of Elly Griffiths’ sleuthing duo DI Edgar Stephens and magician Max Mephisto, and the stakes are higher than ever in this mystery. Elly’s novels are always highly original and very entertaining – we promise you’ll find yourself unable to stop turning the pages to find out what happens next.

Cross The Line by James Patterson – 3^rd November
Alex Cross is hunting a cold-blooded killer with a conscience in Cross The Line – an adversary who has appointed himself judge, jury, and executioner in a mission to wipe out criminals. Alex must take the law back into his own hands before the city he’s sworn to protect descends into utter chaos. Another brilliant action-packed thriller from James Patterson.

Pendulum by Adam Hamdy – 3^rd November
Back in January we picked Pendulum as one of the hottest debut novels to look out for in 2016, and we’ve seen the buzz building around this book ever since. It’s a high-concept, twisting, dangerous journey through a digital underworld and a perfect thriller for fans of Terry Hayes and Simon Kernick.

Gallows Drop by Mari Hannah – 17^th November
We’re big fans of Mari Hannah’s DCI Kate Daniels series and think that Gallows Drop might be the best mystery yet. When a body is found hanging from an ancient gallows the morning after a country show, Kate must solve the case that has sent shock waves through the close-knit village community. A fantastic book we can’t recommend enough.

Truth Will Out by A D Garrett – 3^rd November
If you love forensic detail then you should definitely pick up one of A D Garrett’s crime novels featuring Professor Nick Fennimore and DCI Kate Simms. Truth Will Out focuses on a mother and daughter who are snatched on their drive home from a cinema – a crime which has a number of chilling similarities to a cold case Fennimore had been lecturing on. Before I Let You In by Jenny Blackhurst – 3^rd November
Second novels can often be tricky – but not for Jenny Blackhurst it would seem, as her new psychological suspense novel is even better than her brilliant debut How I Lost You. It’s a gripping, clever, twisty book and an absolutely thrilling read that will keep you glued to the edge of your seat.
