First Look: Mr Holmes

This summer will see the release of Mr Holmes in cinemas. Based on the book A Slight Trick of the Mind by Mitch Cullin, the film stars Sir Ian McKellen and depicts the iconic detective Sherlock Holmes as a retired 93-year-old who spends his days bee keeping.

The film focuses on the deterioration of Holmes’s mind and memory and his incredible life. In the company of his housekeeper’s young son, he attempts to reflect on the unsolved case that led him to retirement, searching for answers with the rapidly fading power of his mind.
